Uteköket

In this project, my colleague Oliver and I started with research on what it means to build a "friggebod" and what you can get out of the building permit. We searched for that “extra” factor you want to add to your villa and took inspiration from FABEL’s Höghult project.

On a smaller but relevant scale, the question arises: what do you do in your garden? Socialize and eat well, of course; a proper outdoor kitchen is something suitable for any garden, all year round. So that’s what it had to be. This friggebod came to consist of a storage room to store outdoor furniture in, as well as a permanent kitchen and a roll-out kitchen area with a grill. The middle, which is the communication and grilling area; and the far end, the place where you stay and eat, all under a shared pergola.

The doors collectively take up more surface than the facades in total.

The large main doors are internally clad with the facade's fjällpanel to blend in with the
facade when opened 270 degrees, while the storage doors are the opposite and lack a visual door frame to blend in with the facade when closed.
