The quest and site's calling for project Gasklockan was to design a housing project that explores new ways of living and how proximity to the water can be both a quality and a challenge. Focus, to be aimed at housing qualities, indoor climate and connection between inside and outside.

This project was part of a larger effort to explore all these potential areas left behind by the old industrial ports, with, of course, a focus on Gullbergsvass. I analyzed floor plans from the housing exhibition ‘Bo Bättre’ from 1945 and, using a variety of digital tools to analyze the rooms next to the water (views, furnishing possibilities, daylight, etc.), I came up with new, better housing qualities, especially next to something of a harbor.

Analyses shows flexible and good quality rooms with great views of the River. Gasklockan’s winning competition entry “Helan och Halvan” gave direct inspiration for the stairwells.
Analyses and design/drawings by me.
